YOUR FASHION BRAND

You want a brand that works for your fashion brand. A brand that attracts the right clients and customers, a brand that is authentically your story, your company, your place in Winnipeg, and in the world. When you are you, truly you, no one can duplicate that. Your brand has a story, and your customers want to know that story. Storytelling connects us, and can connect you with loyal clients and customers.

If you need someone to help you build the brand for your fashion business but the cost of hiring an agency has stopped you from doing that, the Shopology Project Branding Team can help. We know fashion, and understand that it is a highly competitive market. We also understand that retail is changing, fashion is changing, and you need to adapt to those changes. Our team includes creatives that have worked in their fields for a long time and some that are just starting out. Our experienced creatives have seen trends and styles come and go, while our new creatives have some really great fresh new ideas. Together, providing you with a brand and strategy you can feel confident about.

Creating authentic brands for fashion business owners like you is what our team is passionate about. Passionate because when fashion branding is done well, the business does well, and we want to see local businesses do well. We will work with you and your budget to create a brand that you will feel proud of, including a website that will convert your visitors to buyers. We will provide you with a branding guide that clearly defines all elements of your brand, and tells your story.

We would love to work with you to finally get your brand on track, consistent and authentic.

IT’S A BRAND YOU WORLD

What makes you, you? Do you know what people say about you when you are not in the room? What are you the go-to person for? Are you attracting the right kind of clients, friends, job opportunities, projects? Did you know that people are looking for specialists not generalists?

The better prepared you are to show the world who you are, the more the world will see
you the way you want.

This two-hour hands-on workshop will help you to develop your personal brand by identifying your core values, sharing your stories and discovering what makes you different. Get ready to do a little work and think about what you are all about, how others see you and how you want the world to see you, and all the things you do – in your career, your social life or your business. You will come prepared to dive in with a pre-workshop activity and leave with a little personal homework too!

WHY YOU NEED E-COMMERCE ON YOUR STORE’S WEBSITE

Ecommerce is a great way for brick and mortar stores to expand their customer base, as well as a great platform for you to provide a great service to your local customers. It’s great to have a website that showcases your shop and tells your story, but if you are not selling your product online, you need to.  Here’s why:

  • Online shopping is a growing trend in Canada. Sales are expected to double by in the next four years, from $22 Billion in 2014 to $40 Billion by 2019.
  • Consumers value local. Of Canadian consumers surveyed, 69% valued Canadian ownership as “Most Important” or “Important” when shopping. Over 50% of consumers are seeking locally made products and nearly 50% prefer to buy from companies right in their Province or City.
  • Consumers would spend more money online with local businesses if they offered convenient shipping, e-stores and a better consumer experience navigating their online stores.
  • Winnipeggers love to go out for strolls down Academy, Osborne or in the Exchange, come winter, as we gravitate to the indoors. Your foot traffic slows down.  It’s winter many months of year. Stop losing sales due to Winnipeg weather. Open up your online shop and let people browse from the comfort of their homes during those months.
  • Your website can be your salesperson.  Presenting products, describing products, and walking them easily through to check out – all day, all night.
  • Winnipeggers like to check things out, make sure they are getting the best value before they purchase. They will look things up online before they visit your store and make a purchase.
Worldwide eCommerce sales are projected to grow to 370 billion dollars by 2017.

Here are some things to think about while planning your e-commerce website:

  • Make sure you include high-quality, good-sized photos for all the products you stock, and you must include product descriptions that include essential information such as measurements, size, colour and price. Providing plenty of product information heightens the experience of shoppers and strongly increases your chances of a sale.
  • Hire a local professional photographer – Winnipeg has a ton of great photographers.
  • Make it part of your receiving goods procedure to take photos of one of everything to upload to your website.
  • You get one chance to present your product to the visitor, take the time to create a stunning, inviting and easy to navigate (AND SHARE!) product pages. Take the time to set this up properly once, and have it work for you over and over.
  • Offer first time customers a discount off their first order.
  • Do your research and be prepared to build it deliberately and effectively.

What next?

Remember, Amazon.com was a little ecommerce store selling books at one time.

CREATING YOUR FASHION LINE MEDIA KIT & LOOK BOOK

To effectively promote your fashion business, you need the help of the media. If a reporter or publication calls you, or the other way around, you need to be ready with an impressive media kit (also called a press kit).  A media kit is a concise presentation of how awesome your brand is. This is your way of selling yourself to the media. Rarely do brands provide a print version as they did in days past, but rather, press materials exist in a digital format and are shared via email, a download link or publicly on a company website. Even though the format of press materials has changed, the information that editors need about your clients and brands has remained the same.

For new product launches or seasonal collection launches, a look book is a key part of a press kit. The look book would have images and style names of the key items that tell a compelling story about your collection. Images of the collection can be shot on models or still life on a white background. For many fashion designers, photo shoot production is a challenge, and something you should consider investing in and hiring a professional photographer, stylist and professional models.
